When planning, researching, creating and presenting your SciFair project, pay close attention to the following goals for a successful project:
Content. Cover the topic in an in-depth way, providing details and examples.
Language. Check spelling and grammar. Introduce and use topic-specific language.
Art. Enhance project presentation with careful use of 3D art, textures, land use, backgrounds, color, effects, etc.
Technology. Make use of the available technological resources and features, which may include advanced commands, multimedia files, programming, custom web sites, art and 3D models, game features, etc.
Netiquette. Be polite and respectful with team members, coaches, mentors, and visitors. Follow chat netiquette guidelines, and respect others' space and buildings in the virtual world.
Sources. Cite all sources for images, media, ideas and quotes in a way accessible to a user exploring your project, and in a commonly acceptable format.
Creativity. Present original ideas, and thoughtfully integrate content and art.
Design. Organize content in an accessible way, and use space, art, text, etc to create an attractive environment.
Planning. Work as a team to plan the project early on. Iteratively alter plans as needed, and submit planning documents on time.
Follow-through. Do your best to meet the expectations and agreements made by the SciFair team throughout the project, and complete required tasks.
Workload. Share and divide the work among team members fairly and appropriately. Work together.
Showcase. Rehearse your final presentation for both in-person and inworld audiences. Present the project clearly, and involve all team members. Give visitors a complete introduction to your topic and project, and lead them through the parts of the exhibit. Engage the audience to keep their attention. Consider adding inworld scaffolding for the presentation, as well as for independent visitors..
